West Mebon Viṣṇu in the West Mebon 3D immersive visualisation

This 3D immersive digital reconstruction of the West Mebon and the West Mebon Viṣṇu was made by Marnie Feneley as a result of her PhD research. The process of understanding the sculpture and its configuration is ongoing. The model was made using the West Mebon Stele as a basis for the overall configuration of the sculpture. The towers of the shrine are based on photographs taken by the EFEO in the 1930s-40s. The lotus variety (Nelumbo nucifera) was established through analysis of the core sample made in the Mebon pond.
