Other artefacts found in the West Mebon
These two hands were found in the West Mebon. They may be the hands of a sculpture of Lakṣmī that was part of the ensemble of the West Mebon Viṣṇu.
West Mebon Stele
This important stele, found in 1944 in the northeastern tower of the West Mebon, depicts Viṣṇu Anantaśāyin, and is possibly a depiction of the sculpture, it is stored in the Dépôt Archéologique de la Conservation d’Angkor (Conservation d’Angkor) in Siem Reap. The figure of Lakṣmī has an elaborate tiered crown, which can be seen in representations of the princess in other bas-reliefs of Angkor Wat. The figure of Viṣṇu is reclining on a reachisey and a naga. It was this stele that was used to create the digital reconstruction of the possible configuration of the West Mebon, Viṣṇu.
